Q: Describe your vision of how the media world will be for most people five years from now. Discuss how and where people will access news, entertainment, and other media content, and examine what media companies may be important. Think back through all the readings to give examples and contexts.

The media in five years will more than likely will be a different form of "the same ole' same ole" with a different name. "Social media" such as tweeter, Facebook, and Instagram will be as old as Myspace, as soon as someone creates basically the same thing with a new name and different way to post a photo. "social media" is how a lot of information important or what some thinks as important circulates and spreads. The kardashian's get engaged it's world news, but hardy anyone knows about Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl who has been left in Afghanistan since 2009, but I guess that's not world news.

As for were people will gain this information, most people already live on their tablets and smartphones, between the "apps" and "widgets" television is a thing to watch when you want to watch your favorite episode of Family Guy, or Moonshiner, not so much weather and news. Most breaking news will pop up on your handheld device, if you have the right apps.

All this being said, as a outdoor advertisement employee, I find there are a million ways to make a media campaign important, for example, amber alerts, the public safety officials have done a wonderful job using all media to get the message out about a missing child, using Digital billboards, news alerts on Facebook as well as television. Another way Outdoor helps, in Fayetteville, we are working with a local Police Dept. on running campaigns on at large fugitives; where we blast a criminals face on digital billboards, so far it has lead to the arrest of 4, we have only ran it for three weeks. I think any media source is valuable if used to its best intent. It's when it's used for useless stuff, such as telling people what you are eating for lunch on social media, or on television when we have to hear for three days that Weiner was caught sending boxer pictures to twitter followers is when it becomes unnecessary.
